About the Author

Hi! My name is Madi Carr. I am currently a senior (class of 2021) at Gettysburg College. I am a double major in Sociology and International Affairs with a minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. This site showcases my Sociology capstone research regarding the portrayal of the Arab Spring movements in American media in the early 2010s.

Career Goals

As of the present moment, I am planning on attending law school in the fall of 2021. I am currently undecided as to where. I wish to pursue a career in international law, with a concentration in either human rights or refugee law. Right out of law school I would love to pursue pro-bono work in the Middle East.

Long-term, I would like to be stationed in either D.C. or New York City, as they are the international hubs. After years of building my resume and doing pro-bono work, I would ultimately like to transition into international business. Ideally, I’d love to work for an NGO assisting those in need on an international scale.
